Planning Your Diet
Life is too busy these days and a lot of us plan things in advance.
Whether it be an important business meeting, visit to friends,
relatives, shopping etc., almost anything and everything requires some
kind of planning. Some people even plan sex and have babies
accordingly. So why not plan your diet a little bit. I mean its
important to spend a few minutes deciding what one should eat to stay
healthy and active.
So why not spend a few minutes and plan
out what you will eat? If you are reading this, you have the time so.
So sit back and follow these seven easy steps. Don't blink, if you do
it will be over. It is really that simple.
1. Mini meals are great.
Its said that a person should eat something every two hours. Its simple
logic that if you have something every two/three hours you won't feel
too hungry at dinner or lunch time. Hence, the possibility of
overeating becomes far less.
Now keep in mind we are talking of MINI
MEALS only. So its a good idea to have some veggies and fruits. Of
course it would'nt make sense if you binge on a fried chicken for your
mini meal. That would obnoxiously kill the whole essence of a mini meal.
These are a great way to avoid hunger and improper snacking throughout
the day. Just make your mini meals up and eat them every time that you
have planned. If you plan on eating every two hours, every two hours it
is. It doesn't take a road map to figure this out.
2. Don't go over board.
This is easier said than done. You need to have a specific amount that
you are trying to reduce. If you are trying to reduce your meals by
10%, then you should stick to that. I'm not suggesting that you break
out the calculator and count up every meal that you have. If you have
been on a diet for very long, you already have a good idea how many
calories things have. Don't eat with your eyes, eat with your mind.
That will help you cut down on the amount of food that you eat.
3. Eat good tasting food.
Now there is a little bit of cheating that you should allow youself.
Lest the temptation to have that greesy stuff becomes overwhelming.
Having something that you kow you should'nt occasionally, rather than
nibble at it every morning is a far healthier proposition. This
is likely to help you stick to your diet plan in the long term.
4. Eat your calories, don't drink them.
Another thing that should be avoided is course those glasses of sodas
and drinks. A little bit of soda, hot chocolate , beer or coke can make
you weigh heavier easily.
5. Exercise.
A healthy body is an active body. A little bit of exercise can go a
long way in keeping you fit and mentally strong as well. And if
you are mentally storng you will be able to adhere to the diet plan in
the long run. In other words, its rightly said you get what you give.
So if you give your body a healthy diet and regular exercise it will
give you an active and sharp life. On the other hand if you are
depressed you are more likely to eat that fatty stuff which will make
you lethargic and more depressed. Now this is a bad cycle to start.
6. Make your meals last.
Don't swallow your food. Yes, Grandma was right. If you chew your food
properly not only will you enjoy its taste but also it will be more
filling. You won't get the feeling that you have'nt eaten properly and
that you are hungry.
7. Discover your food triggers.
We all have these. When was the last time you went grocery shopping and
you looked at a bag of cookies and realized that you had to have them?
I do this sort of thing all the time. You need to understand what foods
trigger your response system. If you can do this, you can avoid
situations that will make you eat things that you shouldn't eat.
Well, that wasn't so bad was it? There is no need to flip out when it
comes to a diet plan. It is simple and easy. Just like anything in
life, you should have a plan before you begin to do whatever it is that
you are doing. The same is true with your diet.
